"Rayagada folk festival is scheduled from today."

“Rayagada District Folk Festival Chaiti and Pallishrimela will start from Tuesday in the local GCD Ground and will continue till the 30th. The first two days will be Chaiti, and the last three days will be Pallishri mela. Under the direct supervision of District Collector and District Culture Chairman Sudha Dev Singh, the preparation of the events has been completed. District Culture Chairman Singh has requested people to join the rally. A large police force has been deployed under the leadership of SP Vivekananda Sharma for security. For this, forces have been requested from the neighbouring districts. From the temple of Rayagada Goddess Maa Majhigharini, Kalas Yatra started and went around the city. It will reach Chaiti Mandap. After that, this program will be conducted for five days. There will be twelve programs attended by ministers, secretaries, and people’s representatives. Every evening, artists from the state and outside the state will showcase their art. A large stall with over 300 items has been set up to sell a variety of handmade items from ORMAS. This time, 58 cultural groups from different districts and outside the state will perform arts and crafts for the entertainment of the people. Folk dance Bihu of Assam, Kali of Maharashtra, Lawani dance, Special dance of Andhra Pradesh, and Madhai of Chhattisgarh will be the special attractions of this festival. Singers will also entertain the audience. However, the underpass remains closed due to the construction of the third railway line at Rayagada. There will be traffic problems. The play over is almost certain to have a massive crowd. There is also a risk of accidents. Therefore, the police department is generally demanded to pay special attention to this.”
